We encourage all athletes to give it a go. There will be an event that every child will be able to take part in.
Our competition is on a Saturday morning from 8am. Competitions are held at The Langford Sporting Complex in Langford. Training is held at your club grounds, depending on what club you join. Please see Our Clubs links for information on our clubs and training times.
Athletes compete in a number of events on the day, including High jump, Long jump, Hurdles, Triple jump, Javelin, Discus, Shotput, Road walking, Sprints, and Long distant runs, , including 800 meter and 1500 meter.
Athletes compete during the season for competition points that go towards champion of the age group and centre. Trophies are given out at the end of the season to the athletes who score the most points in their age group. There are also trophies given out to the athletes who achieve the most personal bests and who are noticed as being the most improved, as well as the athletes who have tried their very best, without necessarily being the best athlete.
There are many other opportunities for athletes to win trophies during the season, including Centre Championships, Centre Multis, State Multis, State Relays and The State Track and Field Championship. The summer season runs from October to March.
Once you sign up for the Summer season you are able to compete in the Winter season. The winter season includes Cross Country and Road Walking Championships. The Winter season starts in May and concludes in August.
